Velmex Expands Linear Slide Offering With XSlide Assembly
BLOOMFIELD, NY, July 14, 2006 - Velmex, Incorporated a four decade domestic manufacturer of precision UniSlide® positioning stages and systems, today announced the new XSlide™ slide assembly to further strengthen its portfolio of precision electro-mechanical actuators. The XSlide is based upon the Velmex BiSlide® design in a more compact size. It is fully compatibility with NEMA size 17 and 23 motors, and is plug-and-run with the VXM stepping motor controller.
The XSlide slide assembly is the most capable positioning slide for its size ever produced by Velmex. Incorporated from the BiSlide design are the dovetail ways, cleat mounting, and the slide/bearing construction. The 45 degree opposing dovetail ways on the BiSlide and XSlide assemblies provide the highest rigidity for their size compared to other dovetail designs.
The XSlide has two unique adjustment features not previously available. Both the carriage fit and the leadscrew/nut mesh adjustments are accessible from the sides. All fine tuning/wear compensation can be easily accomplished without removing a payload from the slide.
